Don't wake up in the night!

I worked with a lovely 11 yr old this morning who was having trouble sleeping through the night. She’s auditory, we know this from a previous session on something else a few months ago. This means she is hyper aware of all the noises - creaky floors, dogs barking and voices downstairs. She knows EFT Tapping and has been using this but still wakes up during the night.

We started with the process of going to bed. Her mum says “it’s 8pm , time for bed” and she goes upstairs, gets ready for bed and is allowed to read at her desk until 8.30pm. No problems so far.

At 8.30pm she gets into bed and guess what she says to herself “Don’t wake up tonight”.

So, let’s think about this. She’s telling herself what not to do! How on earth will her brain make sense of this?

Don’t think about pink elephants!
